Default Floaters dying in shrimp bowl

Hey team,

I noticed my salvinia minima and frogbit are turning brown and collecting mold in some areas is my established shrimp bowl. They did great for 3-4 months and have since declined. I imagine this may be a result of the fact that my nitrate/nitrite/ammonia readings rarely if ever exceed zero.

What do you think is the best course of action at this point?

I think I would remove the tiny little plants that don't look healthy, but leave a few plants so they can grow to match the need for them. Those plants can reproduce very fast if they have enough food.

Dose nutrients would perk up the plant.

Or just give the shrimp some extra food. That is what I do.

Thanks for the responses I pulled on the brownest ones with mold on it. I can add more food- it’s mostly protein based- is that ok?

I would make sure that some of that protein is plant-based. Shrimp love Spirulina flakes.
