Welcome to APC! I used a little Azomite in my dirt substrate a couple of times. I have no idea if it helped anything, but I didn't have any problems with those setups. I don't think it is something that should be dosed periodically.

I wasn't familiar with this product, but here's the nutrient analysis for those interested. I just wanted to point out it's 11.43% aluminum(III) oxide and 12 ppm copper. The aluminum is not an issue unless the soil solution is acidic. Copper is toxic to lots of things, but very, very small amounts are ok. I don't know offhand where that cutoff is, but I bet it's way under 12 ppm. I'm sure it's fine in small amounts, but I just wanted to pass the info on so someone doesn't go ham with it.

Keep in mind 12ppm Solid is a different unit we use in water, which is mg/L. I think itís mg/kg.

Oh yeah, good catch. Like I said, don't know what level of copper is safe anyway, but I'd look it up before using it. (My usual flake food has copper in it, but at levels that don't bother anyone. It is an essential nutrient, dose makes the poison, etc.)
