Default backflow of water into regulator

so if you have water backflow into your regulator what will happen and what should you do?

It's a much bigger deal if the water is dirty and nasty. It it's fairly clean water from the bubble counter then disconnect it from the aquarium diffusion point and open it up all the way to blow some CO2 through it quickly to try and dry it out. The minerals and gunk that can be in the water can clog up valves, solenoids, etc...

Use a nice check valve to prevent this from happening in the future.

Run check valves! These little guys can be installed in the tubing to your reactor after you reg/valve/solenoid (you should also have a brass check valve on the discharge of your needle valve IMO). Low crack pressure and they are cheap. I run two and will replace the one closest to the reg if I see that it has failed. Been two years and I have yet to see a failure though. Buy the 1/8" model.
