Lightbulb Bio-Wheel

I am adding plants to my 75 gallon tank and was thinking of also adding a Penguin Bio-Wheel 350. I am concerned that it might afect the CO2 levels. Does anyone have any experince with this system and CO2?

Thanks

It will cause you to go though more CO2 than if you did not have it. I run them on a couple of my tanks.

You can put it on a timer if there is a certain time of day that you do not want it to stir up the surface water (when your lights are on BRIGHT) and you want the plants to pearl.

Or you can set it on a timer to only run at night time if you are ever concerned about your fish not having enough oxygen with the CO2 on.

Let us know what works for you.

You pretty much have to let a Bio-Wheel run 24/7. If the wheel drys out then it serves no purpose.

Hmm... Really? The old ones have so much 'stuff' grown on them. And they say old ones are actually better than new clean ones. Hmm....

I just like to watch the plants pearl sometimes. And I figure the plants actually suck up most of stuff. The filter I figure mostly just filters mechanically.

More to learn. Hmm...
