Default EhfiSubstrat Question

Hello friends,

I would like to know if you have any idea about the affects of EhfiSubstrat as a filter media to any water parameters and/or any micro or macro nutrients. I checked from EHEIM site and according to the following info it seems to be a very beneficial filter media. They say :

To create biologically sound water as found in nature, you need EHFISUBSTRAT. Biological filtering is based on a natural decomposition of harmful substances using helpful bacteria. They convert ammonia and nitrite into relatively non-toxic nitrate. The efficiency of biological filtration is limited by the media that bacteria are growing on. EHFISUBSTRAT is a specially designed sintered glass. Bacteria are able to stick better to a surface which has a complex pore system.

Thanks to all,
YILDIRIM

It is an inert biological media..it has no affects what-so-ever on your parameters, nor on your micros/macros. What you might have in mind is carbon, which does take out nutrients from your water.

If you can, get EHFISUBSTRAT PRO..it's better in that you don't need to change 1/3rd of it every year due to pore clogging.
