Default NOISY Hydor

I took mine apart to clean it, and when I reassembled it, it now sounds like an outboard motor. I tried reassembling it several times after that to no avail. Any ideas? I sleep in in the same room!

Hi Cavan,

Did you possibly lose the washer(s) out of it? From what I have read that is not uncommon and results in noisy Hydors. If you are missing your washers, I understand Ace #3 washers are a good substitute.

Washers? The impeller fits down inside the well and the rod that goes down through the middle is attached to the screen that fits over the front. I know if no other parts.

It's not the smallest one, but the one up from that I think. In any case, it has quieted down. Strange. Thanks though.

Mine did that when the back of the impeller broke off.
