Red face Eheim ecco 2232 Canister

I was hoping someone could help me ...I'm setting up the filter and the Intake pipe is too long for my 20 gallon,. even if I move the gravel out of the way it's about .25" too long.

Thank you all for taking the time to read and respond to this post.

Sincerely,
Mr. Limpt

Just cut it the required length.

I'm not sure of how I would flip it around, it's one solid piece nothing is detachable. just the strainer cap on the bottom?

Its detachable. Just switch it around use the short end inside and the long end out side.

Now I see what you are referring to. that being said with the tube sitting so high will the filter efficiency still be the same? with regard to the capacity?

if it's so high up will it be more prone to high Ammonia?

thanks for the advice!

I do not think it changes the efficiency of the filter. Position of the intake has nothing to do with ammonia in the tank.

It's actually better if you have the intake a bit higher from the substrate as it pulls water from the bottom up as well not just into the intake from one side. Most of mine are half way down only and there are no issues with them keeping the sand clean.
