I didn't know there were different sp. of Mycobacteria that give different symptoms. If your fish have mysterious chronic symptoms, they might be the cause.

Apparently, you really can get it too. A guy in our fish club had a section of his thumb missing where it got infected after working in his tank with an open wound. Yeesh...

Yeah, it's covered in the video. When I work on my aquariums and pond, I wear arm length gloves just in case.

Has anybody tried adding vitamin C to their tank?

I saw a stringy stool on my gourami, and I just started levamisol in the feed.

Here are the steps to handle mycobacterium from the video:

1. Euthanize
2. Vitamin C - 10mg/L on weekly or monthly basis
3. Levamisol - 0.1mg/G of food every 3 days for 5 treatments

Step 2 & 3 are methods to boost and fortify the fish's immunity otherwise it's incurable.

I just learned Vitamin C is C6H8O6, ascorbic acid, another carbon source for the plants.
