Default Aquatrader

I was wondering if anyone has bought anything from them before. There products seem very cheap.

Also I was wondering if anyone has used thier t-5 HO systems.

I just ordered an Odyssea 72" CF from Aquatraders - and I am pleased so far. I am putting together a 135g setup, so the 72" Odyssea seemed to be a good choice - however it didn't come with the bulbs I wanted. I sent them an email asking if I could switch out the Actinic and 10000K bulbs for some 6500K. They responded back to me the next day and said that they couldn't swap out all of the bulbs - but that they would give me a "buy one get one free" deal. Wow! So I purchased a 72" 384Watt fixture with mounting legs included plus 4 X 6500K bulbs (for the price of only two bulbs). You really can't ask for more than that. I'll let you know once the fixture/bulbs arrive if you wish.

Thanks,

Thanks for the reply. I was also curious if any one had tried the t-5 since they come with the 2 12000k bulbs and I always wanted to try t-5's but couldnt cough up the cash. I am interested in how you like your lights could you pm me or reply here when you get them to give your opinion.

2 for one on replacement bulbs thats not two bad maybe i will reconsider the cf fixtures.

Default 12000K Bulbs

I am just a newbie here, but if I'm not mistaken in one of the hundreds of threads i have read in these forums - plants can only utilize light between the 5000K and 10000K spectrum? Not sure if you are trying to grow plants (assuming so since you are in this forum) but you may want to double check if 12000K bulbs will help your plants grow...

I will certainly let you know how the lights work out (and I will post again in this forum to let others know too).

I remember I read something about aquatraders at reefcentral.com Go over there and use the search button. To summarize it for you, the service is bad because you can never speak with a real person, and the product isn't that good. Their shipping method will damage the light fixture during shipping. As the old going says, you get what you pay for...

Thanks for the replies and I will go check out reef central. The bulbs are cheaper to replace than compact flourescent so the needing to replace the bulbs wouldnt really be that much of a problem.

Reefcentral won't allow me to search at the moment because of a high server load so I will go back later. Thanks for the tip though they seem to have a lot of imformation.

i used aquatraders before, I have no problems with them. The larger fixtures above 30 inches I have heard people had issues with fans. The tight spacing between the bulbs and reflectors give not so optimal into tank light.

But for a 24 inch setup 110w jebo works great for me.

Maybe two 24 inch if they are quiet and due the same thing. I will continue to look around. On reef central their rating for the jebo 4x55 48" had a rating of three stars but a lot of people loved it and a couple people hated it.

I have a large number of jebo products, canister filters, the 4x55 light fixture, bulbs, UV sterilizer, heaters etc... I really like all the products. The only problems i have had with them are really quite minor like the filter's shut off valve cracked, but the online shop i got it from replaced it for me quickly, when the valve was not the right size, he sent me an entire replacement motor and top with new valves!! Also after a while i decided i didnt like the 4x55 watt reflector so i took the fixture apart and used them for a DIY fixture of my own. Other then that, the UV works perfectly and so do the heaters. I have had all this stuff running for more then a year now and its all kept up.

I think they are decent in quality, but excellent as far as price for product goes.
