Default Anubias gigantea

I bought some tiny tissue culture plants today, and one of them is Anubias gigantea. I am not familiar with these (have had many other Anubias spp.). Anyone know the general size of these once they mature? The package says "background plant".

I saw a description in "aquascaper.org" that notes this species has a rhizome that gets 3-6cm and the leaves will get around 15cmx30cm...yikes. Evidently it takes a while, but that's a pretty good size plant.

Since there is practically nothing about this plant in the planted tank world (online), I’ll make this the journal for it. Here is the Anubias gigantea as a “tissue culture baby”. These are about 2.5” tall, max, right now. Pardon the mess... this tank is still breaking in.

From what I can tell, the taxonomy of Anubias is a complete mess. The splitters name a bunch of species but the lumpers say they are all varieties of A. barteri.

So, a good chance there's nothing about it because it may just be someone else's "name" for ...."A. hastifolia" or one of the larger versions of the plant. Would you believe that I would not be the least surprised if they really are all just the same species? But it's more fun to pretend I have a NEW one!!

This was provided on another forum by "Triport". Not the look I am going for, but nice to see one of the larger Anubias used in the scape.

Flowgrow seems to say that A. gigantea is a species, but that the name is incorrectly applied to A. hastifolia. You must look as entries for both taxa: https://www.flowgrow.de/db/aquaticpl...ubias-gigantea

Now that I think about it, a long time ago I bought something labeled A. gigantea from a local shop. It grew out of the top of my 20 high paludarium (which I had to keep covered for the frogs), so I gave it away.
