Does anyone out there know of a good LFS in St. Louis that has plants? I recently moved back to the area and can't believe a city this size doesn't have one. Maybe a local club instead?

The best by far IMO is Aquaworld on Gravois followed by Aquaworld on Manchester. It is worth the drive for you to go to the Gravois store.

If you have anything interesting to exchange, let me know. I only have one tank, but it is CO2 injected and has surplus stuff from time to time.

I am also setting up a planted tank in St Louis. I wish I saw this post earlier as I gave up on a local source and placed an online order this morning. I am starting out with stem plants in a 55 and the plan called for 20 bunches.

Tom - Thanks for pointing out Aquaworld. Just got back from the Gravois store and boy what a selection. The only problem is their prices are a little steep. Ended up getting a small pot of microsword that I'd been looking for at $5.75 + tax. Have been getting potted types of plants at Fenton Petco for 3.99 + tax. I guess I'll keep Aquaworld in mind for the hard to find stuff that I just have to have NOW!

Does anyone know of a local fish club? Maybe we can band together and do some trading. Right now I don't have anything to spare but I'm sure I will in the future.

10 Gallon
30 Watts 6700k Coralife CF
CO2 Injection
Eco-complete Substrata
Hang on back filter

I am the webmaster of the local saltwater club. I have gotten most of my equipment for my planted tank from reefers in exchange for coral frags. The local freshwater club is the Missouri Aquarium Society. I have not been to any of their meetings but they are usually in the Maryland Heights/Bridgeton area, I think.

The Missouri Aquarium Society is a really good group. I've been to their anual show and the latest auction they had. The auction is a GREAT place to get some good fish and plants, and the group is a great source of information. I am not currently a member but I know a few and they really love this stuff.

I just tried to load the site to see how informative it is and it didn't work, but anyone in the area that is interested feel free to email me at [email protected]. I will be happy to get you in touch with them. (I would post a contact number but it is a personal home number and this IS the internet...)
