Default Fish/Plant Meets in Bay Area, CA?

I was wondering if anyone here lives in the bay area. If you do, do you know of any aquarium meets around here?

Thanks

The aquatic plant club in the SF Bay area is sfbaaps. Membership is free and open to residents of the greater SF Bay area. Our next meet will be on the 17th, in Albany.

There are also a number of more fish oriented clubs such as the Silicon Valley Aquarium Society (SVAS), and the San Francisco Aquarium Society. There are more, and links to the other various clubs can be found at the above sites.

Default Cool! Thanks!

I live near SJ, so Albany is kind of far for me. Are the plant swaps and things ever near SJ? What type of club is it? Like what do you do? Is it like a mini flea market with fish or is it like a store or is it an auction?

Our members come from Monterey to Sacramento so we rotate meet locations throughout the bay area. Join the club (through the sfbaaps.org website) and then logon to our forum.

The club is very informal. We hold meets/plant swaps at public venues (mostly at open dining-style restauarants like pizza parlors) and the occasional member hosted open house. And the plant swap is just that, members bringing in clippings and swapping among each other.

We have a bunch of south bay members and there are usually carpools to meets...in fact I know there's one being offered by a San Jose member to the Albany meet.

I'm only 15 though, so I'm fine not to go to albany one I'll go when there is one near me or close enough. Like within 30 mns. Also, I just started my planted tank, and I've never done it before. All I have is anacharis, rotala, and vallisneria, and 1 amazon sword. I am a "noob" haha. I have nothing to trade Can I buy stuff there? Is it only plants? Also, I don't really want to put my phone number and adress and stuff. Can I still join? Is it free?
