| | From needle valves to amano shrimp!!!!
I set up a 75 a few weeks ago. I have two probs that I need help with.
1- My needle valve is junk. I am using the one that came with the Mil. regulator. It will not hold a high bubble count to save its life. I set it at 3/sec, come back 5 hours later and it is barely at 2. I have been doing this for 4 weeks. I have tried everything i could think of from keep opening it to opening it all the way and adjusting it from there. At this point I am ready to buy a new needle valve. Does anyone have thoughts on this?
2- My CO2 has been on the low side, however the plants are growing great. I have some slight GSA on the glass and on some rocks.....but I expect this till the EI schedule is ironed out and the tanks settles in.
My big problem is a sort of hair algae in the hair grass and HC. It is only coming from those two.....nothing else. It is very green and about a half inch long. I think it is cladro (spelling). I can really pull it out because it brings the whole patch of HC with it. I dont know if higher CO2 will dent this stuff.
I have heard of amano shrimp working wonders on this stuff. What are some of your thoughts on this? How many can I have in a 75? There is nothing else in the tank yet. Where can I get some? Are there other shrimp that will do as good of a job.
Thanks for all your help.
