November Collection Trip!! - Houston Area Aquatic Plant Society

Trip is scheduled!! November 19, we will close out the year (no December meeting) with a Field Trip/Collection Trip to Bear Creek and the Bear Creek Park on the west side of Houston. The park has a walking trail and the normal nice ammenities of Houston parks in case spouses and kids want to hang out at the park while you ditch-dive.

We'll meet at the park at our normal meeting time (1:00 pm).

If you need more info, post here or PM Kevin (kwc1974). Also, don't forget the plant swap and all hobbyists are welcome!

Someone brought up a good point on another forum...Bear Creek is a big place...where are we meeting up?

We will meet at the little league baseball parking in front of the aviary. From there we can take a short drive to a few spots.

This Saturday at 1:00!

Consider making pressed specimens of interesting things in case an ID can't be attached right away.

Regarding specimens...I went out to get some of what I believe to be true Eleocharis parvula and it was all gone.

There were acres and acres of it earlier in the summer, but I guess the drought was too much for it to handle. Even now that we have had some rains, none has returned. I'll have to wait until next spring.
