Yellowish green?

Yellow - sounds like tannin from driftwood or even something from the soil. If it's from driftwood, it's harmless. If it's from the soil, I have no idea of any better solution except by tearing down the tank, replace the soil or cover the soil with sand.

Green - sounds like you're having green water issue due to too much light. Reduce the amount of light and add more plants especially fast growing plants such as Anacharis, Hornwort, Water lettuce, Water wisteria, etc to absorb the extra nutrients.

Funny smell - if there's no plant in the tank, I would use activated carbon in the filter for about 1 week and remove it after that. You can try changing the water to see whether it improves if it's a planted tank.

What is the duration you keep the light on? Try to reduce to 6 or 8 hours with siesta period of 2 hours in between.

Humus/organic matters in soil will color water yellow. Changing water a few times will clear it out. After you change the water, I would put in horwort/duckweed/wisteria or other fast growing plants to stabilize the nitrogen level, and the green water won’t return.
