Is there a meeting in NJ area any time soon? I am starting a 10 gal NPT and would like to get some starter plants and shrimp.

Hi, I am in N.Brunswick and have a 125 gal planted didcus tank. Please let me know when you go on a road trip to Lancaster I allways wanted to go to that fish place. I go to Hiddenreef one in a while and I should say it is a very nice store.

There is club in North Jersey NJAGC.net and will have meetings every other month. Are you looking any specific plants?

Nothing special ... simple low maintenance plants. I want to do El Natural planted tank with RCS/CRS shrimp to try my hand at growing plants.

I very seldom venture out to the forums except for the NJAGC forum. Just time management really. Not a lack of interest.

Anyway, I saw this thread and would like to say that we just had a meeting of the NJAGC at a members house in Piscataway. We will be having our summer picnic in Tom's River this year.

In order to attend a meeting you do need to be a member of the club for at least a month. One poster from above said the meetings would move south if enough members come from there. It is happening now. We do have at least two members in the Mt. Holly area.

My advice, join the club, and see when the meetings will be in your area-or travel to them like I do.

Here is a time lapse video from Nov 09 of a meeting at my work where we set up a 150 gallon planted tank in my boss's office. http://youtu.be/4xF3s0HQVJw There is an updated video in the response section of the comments of this video. The video was taken by Joe Hoetzl and we didn't know he was doing it at the time.

A tank set up meeting is out of the ordinary for the club. This was the only time we've done it, but that doesn't mean we wouldn't in the future.

We do have a member in the Camden area now and had a meeting there Sept 22. http://www.njagc.net/wp/meetings/september-2012/ A few of us went early and spent a few hours at the Camden public aquarium before the meeting.

We have new leadership in the club now and are seeking to be more active. We are planning a road trip to Northampton, MA in Sept 2013 to visit Aqua View Design. http://www.aquaviewdesign.com/index.html

A few of our old time members have recently become active again. In one case, his twins have grown up enough so that his wife is asking to have the tank set up again.

If any of you in the NJ/NY/PA area want to join NJAGC, just go to http://www.njagc.net/ and click on "Join NJAGC" and fill out the form. You will need to wait for a member to screen the application before you will get access to our private forum. We are a friendly bunch of plant nuts of varying skill levels and interests. We'd love you to join.
