Default With plants from Oz

I've been around for a couple of months now and absolutely love this site. Am attempting to post a pic of my first planted tank which I started in April (150 L). I've had so much fun learning, and despite the feral looking aquascape I have created, feel I'm beginning to understand what works for my tank (touch wood). My only wish is I'd found this site before starting the adventure - could have saved myself the "pleasure" of a spectacular green water display.

Sorry partner. You are not a beginner anymore.

That jungle looks pretty good to me.

Nice looking jungle. Everything seems healthy and that lotus is so vibrant! It looks like you've gotten the basics down quite well.

Thanks for the encouragement but I still consider myself very much a beginner. I've learnt what works for my tank - for the moment. The lotus is a true delight!

Are you using any special lighting, or supplements to achieve such a red color in the lotus?

I'm not doing anything special in terms of lighting. Have a compact T5 light with 96W tube. The lotus itself I feed extra with seachem fertilizer balls, just because I know they are very hungry plants. With the exception of the leaf closest to the substrate, that's just the natural colour of my plant which I will claim no credit for. The odd leaf was an unusually pretty one to begin with, however the extreme pink hue is an artefact of the way the light from above was reflected and captured by the camera. Sorry if I mislead anyone.
