Default How fast does CO2 levels raise?

Hello. I would like to know how fast CO2 levels in a 5gal tank would raise if I use the DIY east CO2 producers with a Plant Gro Co2 System Bubble Counter (I'm getting around 2 bubbles a second by using multiple 2L bottles).

The reason is that I am doing a short experiment for a project, but I don't want to spend too much time checking the water.

I have decided to test CO2 by measuring pH and kH. I will test pH using a liquid tester since it has a larger range, and a strip tester for kH. I am using tap water for the experiment in a bare 5 gal tank with no plants or gravel. However, I don't know how fast the pH would change for calculating the CO2 concentrations.

So would anyone know how fast a CO2 injector can raise a 5 gal tank with barely any CO2 in it to a point where CO2 levels would be fatal to fish? If it takes a whole day, I might check back every hour. If it takes less time, I would adjust my checks accordingly.

CO2 dissolves in water very quickly. I would check it often.

For a 5 gallon tank, with 2 bubbles per second of CO2, and a reasonably good method for dissolving CO2 into the water, no excessive surface disturbance, I would expect to reach equilibrium on CO2 concentration within 2 hours or less, probably much less.

Your results will mean a lot more if you start with 5 gallons of distilled or deionized water from the grocery store - about $6 worth - and add about 1/16th teaspoon or less of sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) to get a measurable KH. Then the chart of CO2 ppm vs pH and KH would be much more accurate.
