I have an old class CO2 diffuser that recently has desided to only bubble on one side of the cup (perimeter of withe disk). Even after cleaning it in a mild bleach solution it still does this. So I figured that it has finally weakened in this area and it is time to get a new diffuser.
My question is, in shoping for a new diffusser I have come across these diffusers that have a coil on the inside. example http://www.aquabuys.com/miva/merchan...j_co2_diffuser
Does the coil improve CO2 tansfer or is this just cool looking?
I almost bought that same diffusor. After some research, i decided to go with a Tunze diffusor. I believe the coil increases co2 contact time (I could be wrong). Here's a pic of the diffusor i use.
I just bought that same diffusor from aquabuys about a week ago. The coil is smaller than the glass tube leading to the diffusor so it reduces the bubble size before it hits the disc thus resulting in I believe a more steady mist coming out.
So far I'm very happy with it.
Consider the Eheim diffusor from thatpetplace.com or the azoo diffusor and sweetwater stone from aquaticeco.com
Those are pretty good diffusors. The aquabuys one is pretty good too but the tubing kept coming off until I heated the end of the tubing to make it stick.
