nature aquariums ?
 
is this style trying to mimic nature aquariums ? .. For those who have done collecting trips ...does the nature aquarium style does try ti imitate nature ?

Hi,

The Nature Aquarium style popularized by Takashi Amano looks to nature for inspiration and guidance. It's focus is not to create a biotope so it won't literally imitate an area.

The nature aquarium style does not try to imitate nature per say. Instead, it tries to capture the essence of nature --to make a tank seem both natural yet carefully tended. A layout should not look contrived.

I think the best example on how the Nature Aquarium style attempts to do this is by trying to make wood more natural/aged (wabi-sabi concept) through tying moss and ferns.

That is my take on it, anyways...
