Hawaiian Red Shrimp
100 shrimp for $80
[$50 + $30 shipping (approx.)]
anyone want to split an order of these with me? (half or multiple partials)
more info here:
i live in LA (ucla) and make a weekend trip to Irvine (UCI) about once a month
They feed them to seahorse and other fish...damn that's one expensive meal :D
It's too bad they sell these as food, they're way too cool for that. I've had a colony for a year.
I have 8 right now, that I'll put into my brackish tank when it's done cycling. But I would be interested in some more. Maybe 10? Let me know.
i'm going to make a thread similar to this on nano-reef.com later tonight to see if there's any interest there as well.
your tank looks great lauren :)
there's someone on NR willing to go for 50... let's let the threads sit for a little longer to see if there's anyone else :)
Can the shrimp survive without blackish water?
I'm interested but need more info on care and set up. Any good resources?
The fukubonsai site has about as much info on these shrimp as you'll find anywhere. Also on Petshrimp.com you can search the message board for lots of info by typing in "hawaiian" or "opae ula". There are threads about my tank of opaes as well under the same name "frugalfish".
I would not recommend trying them in freshwater only set-ups. I know one person who has tried it and the shrimp did not fair very well.
