Bio-wheel foam filter cover

Hello

I have a bio-wheel (ugg cant wait to buy a canister!!!) and I was wondering if there is some kind of foam cover for the inlet (where the water is sucked into the filter) so fry don't get sucked up. I know they have a filter max or something like that for the canister filters just wondering if anyone has came up with something to cover it on the biowheel.

BTW its a 350B it has a square neck and most of the prefilters I have seen are for round necks.

I hope yall can make sense of this thread

Thanks in advance
Jackson

Diy?

Fro short term use, just go to Walmart and get a small bit of netting from fabric dept. Twistie it over the inlet. You could also do the same with a bio-bag from the whisper filter, the sort that stretches over the frame. Depends on what you have laying about. I also had bought fish safe foam for filters from Big Al's and cut a chunk of foam to put on the end of an inlet, pretty ugly as I recall.

Nylon mesh would be best and would last longest (like from a small net) . or cutting a filter sponge to fit over the inlet would work also.
