That's good to know. Turns out I did not buy any Magagascar Lace yet. Read to much contradicting information about it.

alternanthera reineckii is a tough one to grow in low tech tank. At least from my point of view. But I threw some of them in the shower caddy and it's doing very well .

I planted a tiger lotus month ago in my 29 gal. for months it only had those bottom leave but they kep spreading in the tank almost overtaking S. subulata. In the last 10 days or so, floaters leave are shooting. There are 3 of them.

I have heard the alternanthera reineckii is tough, but it was free and is pretty so I'm not complaining, if it lives I'll be happy, if not it didn't come out of my pocket.

What kind of substrate do you have? I'm hoping the tiger lotus grows up instead of out. I may end up trimming it more than I want by the sounds of it.

When it's free, it's always good.
The tank the a. reineckii are in has top soil and sand.
The tank the tiger lotus are in is the "wild" tank I call it. It has Miracle Gro Organic Potting Mix capped with sand. It's kind of "blackish" water. Lots of tannins. There are tubifex that same from nowhere and turn the substrate upside down.

Nice! Kind of sucks about the substrate being turned upside down, but if works then that's good. I've got black earth under my gravel, used miracle grow in the tank I'm tearing down.
My lotus is starting to grow up a bit, the leaves aren't hugging the bottom as bad as they were I'm hopeful haha

From the Calgary area. Absent for several years and now back. I have limited plants in my tank, crops, Anubis, hydra and bacopa.
