ShortFin,

Where are those two stores that you have contacted? I called the Anaheim branch and they only have the Soilmaster Soil Conditioner in red NOT the Soilmaster Select. I also looked at Upland's inventory online and what they list is the same as Anaheim's branch. They have it in red only. Due to my frustration I just bought the Soilmaster Soil coniditioner in red.

I emailed Lesco to ask what is the product difference(s) if any. I am theorizing that the two prodcuts are the same except for grain size. A similar situation exists for Profile products. See my post (below) for a description of Soilmaster Soil Conditioner

FYI Soilmaster Soilconditioner cost me $12.61 with taxes.

I've contacted the one in Anaheim and Upland. When I try getting them, they both have the SS in red.

I have conflicting notes from the Upland store. I spoke to a lady the first time I've called. She said she can order the charcoal for me to be pick up at the store (no shipping charges) or delivered to my home for an extra of $10-$15 more. I didn't go with it because I have to take a day off work to go there. When I phone the # from the website, they told me that the lady is not the real manager (some man is) and that ordering it to be pick-up would implies shipping charges.

Hmm according to matpat in this post:

Quote:
Soilmaster and Soilmaster Select are the same product. The "Select" is much finer grained and similar in particle size and is about a third the size of regular Soilmaster. If anyone wants to see the size difference, go to the Pro's Choice website and contact them by either phone or e-mail. They will send you a pamphlet that includes couple small packages (less than 1 ounce) of Soilmaster, Soilmaster Select, Rapid Dry, and Pro Mound Clay free of charge. I no longer have these or I would post pictures.
I recently looked at Lesco's website last night and it seems that they have increased the Soilmaster Soil Conditioner to $15.xx from the $10.xx. The regular Soilmaster's grain size is very irregular.

edit: I still do want to get my hands on the Soilmaster Select though

I've gotten a bag of red, but Charcoal may be difficult. I'll see about asking my local Lesco this week.

So, just wondering, you guys still trying this out? If so, I'm actually interested in a bag or two.
