Question How to guide on setting up a press. CO2 system??

I was wondering if anyone knows of a guide/step-by-step on how to set up a pressurized CO2 system? I want a fully automated CO2 system, but all those gadgets are confusing. I know I can follow directions and I just need a step-by-step guide on how to set this up. Is there some kind of manual/book or website that clearly lays out how to set up such a system?

Thanks for your help

Hi There!

If you can afford the equipment for fully automated Co2 system, Drs Foster & Smith have a beautiful setup...Again...it's pricey!

But it may give you some ideas of what it entails as far as equipment.

That is more than it would cost for your to rig your own system, but from my research, it isn't a bad pricee. Basically, you'd be paying 50-100 dollars more to get everything from one place, and save yourself the trouble/headaches of shopping around for a better deal. If you want to save money, thought, you can do it yourself for less. From what I've found, new, you are looking at between $55-80 for a 5lb tank. $120 for a regulator with all of the valves and solenoid and I haven't looked much into PH controllers, but the one I saw was $100. Then you need a way to diffuse the Co2. reactors/diffusers run from a buck to 100 bucks.

If you would rather put it together yourself, there are tons of online articles about pressurized Co2 that can give you some ideas. Here are some good sources for parts that these guys lead me to:
www.beveragefactory.com good price on tanks and regulators (have tubing too)
http://www.rexgrigg.com/sale.html various valves and solenoids.
aquabid.com not much Co2 stuff up right now, but it's like ebay

As far as the regulators go, you can go quite a bit cheaper than what Lauren has suggested. JBJ, Milwaukee, and Azoo regulator kits are usually $70-90 depending on where you go, and they *usually* come with a needle valve, bubble counter, check valve, and solenoid.
I haven't actually set up pressurized before (cause I'm too po'), so I'm no help there
