I dont think its going down. I dont have enough time to set it up since school started up already and they want it done in a few weeks so not enough time to plan I can stop by in again to see if they really want it to happen.
Shane & I have both spoken with the owners (a couple) of Fish 2000 in Tustin. They recently bought the store from Frank's daughter, and gutted & remodeled it. I saw it before they had much of anything in the store, but they did express interest in having SCAPE set up a tank. They seemed to like an Iwagumi rockscape with a groundcover plant, though someone would need to walk them through the details, what to order, etc.
Since I led arranging the 1st meeting (and was MIA for the 2nd), someone please feel free to contact them ... tell them about John, Shane, and SCAPE, and see about choosing a date.
I have my 2nd son due in November, a new tank to set up (and build a stand for), and a million honeydos before November.
I am free to talk to them, I still have a few weeks off. Do you have some contacts for me? Also, when's a good day for everyone? Sometime this month or October?
They wanted it to be done before their grand opening which they planned ot be october 1st weekend. PM me I will give you their contact information for anyone that would want to try and set things up.
I just called and Greg said he was still interested and told me to call back next monday since he is busy setup all his tank, cycling, and whatnot... But I guess I'll have to wait till next monday then.
would throwing around dates before Monday so you had a general idea of if the ones he suggests are good, or if one is better than another, be a good idea, or just confusing?
Before we talk about dates, we should see which dates are better for Greg, but since he told me to call back next Monday, the set date will have to wait.
I'm thinking this might be something Robert Hudson may be interested in. He did offer (waaaaaaay back, at my request) to sponsor a tank demo like this by providing the plants. It would of course be a great way for him to get in with the new owners.
If it's going to happen, make sure they have appropriate hardware on hand. In particular iron out high vs. low light and hardware as required. With that settled, a plant list for Robert could be put together from stock on hand.
I also know about a 50lbs bag of SS Charcoal in Whittier if they aren't up for EC or Flourite from their own stock.
Well.... It looks like it won't be happening.... I just called and he said he setup up some coral tanks and have no room for planted tanks... Any other options for a meeting place?
