Between your two entries I like this one the best... I bet they look great side by side though (if indeed this is how they are set up)... two beautiful little green gems!

Re: nano2

Thanks, Raven.

In fact there are 12 of them side by side. I was thinking to quit my bigger tanks and move on with these very little ones. Very practical, low cost, low maintanence. To develop micro skills and to do more frequent practice they are great.

12!!!! Faruk, man you are crazy!!! That is so awesome! Are there any pics of them all somewhere online? I was thinking of doing 3 nanos in a row, like a triptych, but 12!!! Excellent!!!

Re: nano2

I started with 5 of them with some experimental and emersed growth purposes. I did not get satisfaction from the emersed growth but the experimentation idea was good. I write about the following four tanks in hard water thread:
http://www.aquaticplantcentral.com/forumapc/on-plant-physiology-and-emersed-culture/15205-hard-water-and-plant-growth.html?highlight=hard+water

Then I increase the number to 12. The cost of the all 12 tanks and their light hoods was around $170. I bought 4 micro power filters for them but I noticed that filtering is not necessary. Weekly partial water changes are more than enough.

What are you using for containers? Essentially, my inability to find something suitable is what put a halt to the triptych project.

Faruk, I am definitely going to look at that hard water thread.
If my costs could be that low for setting up some tanks, oh life would be so good.
I look forward to finding more photos of these and how you set them up and maintained them.
Do you have a journal of them?
I will look at that hard water thread now. I look forward to learning more from you about how you do this.
