Pros: Easy to understand, step by step details
Cons: Pictures look like they were drawn by a 2 year old, pages don`t seem to be made to last

Overall, I like this book. It`s got good info on a topic often overlooked by planted tank entheusiasts. A tank without co2.

I don`t see why she would even bother to put pictures when they`re black and white hand drawn sketches. It doesn`t help at all. Also, the pages are printed on plain paper so they`ll show age in no time.

Pros: Food for thought
Cons: Not so great for commercial propagation

Her ideas are great for most plants in a display aquarium. The chapter on aleopathy was very interesting and explained a few weird occurances.

I reccomend you find this book and read it if only for the low cost alternative, ideas and approaches.

Large companies that rely on high tec customers would be cursing Diana Walstad for this, because I'm sure her approach works with most plants.

The only negs are that this approach just doesn't work for a lot of finicky plants, or if you are propigating for commercial enterprise. And the price tag is unbeleivable especially when the paper quality is inferior and there are no supporting photographs.

Pros: Array
Cons: Array

This is a great read for anyone interested in aquarium plants. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone without that interest, however, as it would require them to think harder than they would like to!
One thing I liked about this book was that unlike many others, it actually explains WHY you should do the things it tells you too. Not only that, but Diana Walstad provides scientific studies to support her methods! The hand sketches are seem to be drawings of plants designed to be used to identify the plants. (This is one way to keep all the pages black and white and to easily show characteristics of the plants.) No big deal about that. However, making the book completely color and providing more color pictures of Ms. Walstad's tanks, natural habitats, methods, etc. would be appreciated and make the book an easier "pick-up" read for people who are not die-hard aquatic gardeners/botanists.
On the publishers side, the paper quality is cheap, and the book too expensive! The read is still worth the money, just not the paper.

Pros:
- Well thought out and well written.
- Not only tells you you should do something, but why you should do it!
- Everything is backed by referenced scientific studies.
- Information is useful even if you decide not to follow Ms. Walstad's techniques.
- Ms. Walstad's proposals for aquarium plant keeping are new and refreshing.

Cons:
- More pictures would be appreciated.
- A new edition would be excellent!
- Price is high for paper quality. Glossed pages would be nice.

Only received 9 out of 10 due to paper quality and lack of more color pictures...
