So here's the tank when I just set it up to cycle with some neons I had on hand and some fast growing stems:

Here's the tank w/the sort of 1.5th scape...I didn't take pics of the first intermediate, but you're not missing much.

Here's 'scape 2.0

This one is 'scape 2.9. It's 2.0 with some (considerable) growth and a few more plants added. I just trimmed the rotala a day ago for the first time, so I'm still shaping it up.

Some HC pearling that reminds me of an MC Escher drawing where he's holding a reflective sphere and drawing his own portrait...do yourself a favor and blow this one up all the way.

Other tank shots:

My Badis Ruber

Lastly two kribensis from the last spawn that I just gave away to a friend:

Very nicely done. It looks bigger than a 10g. Course everyone says that if it's done nicely as yours is. I do think you will have a LOT of maintenance with this plant selection. But I like it! :D
very nice, I hope my 10gal looks as great as yours does when it shapes up :) great job!

Thanks!

For what other reason do I have a hobby? ;) It seems that I need to thin out the H. kompakt about once a month, tip the H. polysperma pink whenever it's getting a little lanky, and the hairgrass/HC hasn't been a problem yet, but once it starts shading I'll have to take it down almost to bare substrate and let it come back again.
What a change from when you started! Your tank looks great, very well balanced and the reds are wonderful.

Great shot of the HC, too.
your tank looks great i was thinking of converting my 10 gallon to a planted tank but i havent had a chance but i hope it looks as good as yours
