Well many may remember I've been battling a green water issue, hair algae issue ect well I picked up an 8 watt UV a and put it inline with my canister discharge and now I have crystal clear water...

It is all planted and growing like crazy, I'm not doing any ferts at this time

Specs are as follows

Pressurized C02,
2.85 Watt per from CF's
4-6" of Amazonia, Eco Complete, and Soil Master Select

I have stocked with Koi Angles "6"
Rummy Nosed Tetras "12"
Cardinal Tetras "30"
Otts "12"
1 crawfish (hardly see him...lol...)
Ghost Shrimp "25-50"
3 Cory Cats

Plans are to add 9 more Cory’s, start adding Amano Shrimp, and looking at more mid water school’ers...

Give me your feed back, and I'm going to sell some Amazon swords soon...

I think you need to be really careful about no ferts. With that much light you might end up with algae again. Your plants need nutrition to keep out competing the algae. Once your plants start showing deficiencies the algae will already be on it's way.

While I agree with your theory I'm going to take an wait and see approach right now...

Remember from eariler post I have the ferts but I see a lot of root growth from trimmings right now.
