Hi,
This is my 2.5 liter bowl. There is 8 adult RCS and ~30 babies.

I would love it if it was more elaborate. And you dont even have to move away from it being a riccia only tank. maybe some white sand somewhere, cliffs, valley. tying the riccia on round rocks is also an option so it gives it contour =) good luck

Stepheus, that's good idea with sand. I'll try fill with sand between rocks something like river, and maybe ad some moss on small rocks. It's running for about 4 weeks now.
Lonepeace, maintenance is very simple. Every 2 weeks i change 1 liter of water and that's all about mainteance. It is completely algae free.

wow! What kind of lights, dosing etc. do you use?

It's desktop lamp with screw in bulb 15W 6500K. No ferts, just tap water.

Good idea but i have only gravel and sand as substrate, and there is no water column ferts. I think that hairgrass cant grow in that environment.

Actually Riccia growing quite slow in this bowl (there is no CO2 and ferts). I usually get a trim every 2 weeks.

Wow, that's one sweet bowl. I have a tinnnnnnnny vase from Ikea that I was going to do a pico with, but wasn't sure what plant to use. I think I'm going to use riccia though, after seeing your bowl.

How'd you get it like that? The ole' mesh method?

Thanks. That's right, no filter. About 1 liter every 2 weeks.

Awesome, I threw my bowl together with "left overs" but you've made realize the possibilities. Think I will pick up some ADA Malaya for this bowl and scape it. I believe my kingyobachi is much smaller than 2.5 liters though. Not sure.

I find riccia grows quickly in the bowl, but I float it.

I chance half the water every other day.

I stick an air stone in it at night.

Love your bowl... will be rescaping my tonight

That is beautiful! you just inspired me to break out two bowls I have in storage and scape them! Good Job on the one with and without sand! Wow!
