Here's a journal of my latest aquascape, a 20g long that I keep in my dorm:

Tanks sure do change fast. After about a month of little growth, the tank started developing very rapidly.

Here's the info:

Lighting: 2x20 NO Flo + 3x13w power compacts in the back with AH supply reflectors. If I were to do this again, I would go with 4x18w T8s using Zoomed bulbs (2 Florasuns and 2 Ultrasuns).

CO2: Pressurized 5lb cylinder fed into a mini-vortex reactor. Now, I am using an external reactor from Gomer.

Substrate: Fertiplant plus (thank you Luis Navarro!) capped over Eco-complete.

I take all my equipment out at the time of the photo --something everyone should always do.
