50 gallon help?

1527 Views 12 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  ferris89
I am hopefully going to start a 50 gallon tank rescape. This is at an assisted living place that my sister runs. Seeing as she has no budget for that type of thing, I was wondering if people would be willing to donate stuff. It would be tax deductible since this place is a non-profit organization...

Now after that, I need recommendations for low-maintenance plants, and a good type of schooling fish.
A design that is peaceful and inviting seeing as many of the residents don't quite have the mental capacity for anything too complex.

any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

What kind of lighting is on this tank? You don't want to be receiving a bunch of high light plants if there is limited lighting on the tank. Got any pics/dimensions?

Just FYI, for it to be tax deductible, the person donating has to have a receipt of sorts from the organization...I think. I just know that when I donate to a 'Non-Profit" they always give me an invoice of the items and appox. value or I get a statement that says the dollar amount donated for the tax year.
Wow, that only gives you .75 WPG! You'll only be able to keep anubias and ferns and mosses alive, and growth will be little or none. On the bright side, maintenance will be a breeze! (No trimming, little or no ferts, no need for CO2.)
