50 gallon help?

great! let me know via PM what you can do and I will be able to get stuff going! The other fish in the tank are tetras and mollies so no aggressive fish are in there! yay!


and equipment wise, I am really only looking for plants and driftwood right now, Don't think I am going to get to fancy with CO2 yet, needs to be easy maintenance

Just FYI, for it to be tax deductible, the person donating has to have a receipt of sorts from the organization...I think. I just know that when I donate to a 'Non-Profit" they always give me an invoice of the items and appox. value or I get a statement that says the dollar amount donated for the tax year.

I don't know the lighting yet, but will find out all the specs once i go down there.

And she is very good about the receipt thing!

I will get everything figured out and posted on here. I just need suggestions for design right now, and a list of possible donations

okay, I have the specs!

50 gallon
48" wide x13" deep x19" tall
It has two hood lights, each one has a 120 volt 19 watt
one aquaclear 50 filter and one aquatech 30-60 filter

even though that's low, It's perfect for this application! lol I didn't want to do anything too fancy anyway, just want to make a calm environment for the residents

thank you! that would be nice! when I get closer to actually rescaping it I will PM you and post on this board, right now I'm trying to see who is up to supporting it! I'm hoping petsmart will donate the fish!

I'm trying to do some community service every year just to know that I'm making a difference in someone's life.

They almost got rid of the aquarium because it was too much maintenance, but the residents wanted to keep it. It has shown that the tank calms agitated residents down, and it helps dementia patients stay at the table longer (while watching the fish) so they eat more and don't lose weight because they don't forget to eat. It is actually beneficial to their health!
