65w good enough for a 29g bowfront?

Is it a 65 watt compact fluorescent fixture? If it has a decent reflector you should be able to grow most moderate light plants. You might have problems with higher light plants if you're interested in keeping them. What type of bulb do you have, what temperature range?

CF, 6700 or a 10000k not sure.

That should work just fine for low and moderate light plants.
