My first question: What plants can grow in sand? I've seen Hemianthus sold planted on rocks/wood. Not much nutrients in rock or wood, I would guess. Can Hemi grow in sand?
Any plant meant to be planted can grow in sand. I've been using pool filter sand for years now and most recently trying the new Seachem black sand. The plants will get their nutrients from the water column with a regular fertilization routine.
