About a month ago, while cleaning one of my tanks I accidentally broke off a leaf from one of my petite nanas. It had its full stem, and I left it floating in the tank, as I did it as I was finishing. At every water change since, I've seen it floating, and have left it cause it looked 'healthy.' Well, while doing my water change today, I looked at it closely and it is throwing out rootlets from the stem! Mind you, there was no rhizome with this at all, just leaf and stem. Of course I left it floating. Perhaps in another month, I will be planting it?!

Anyone else have a similar experience with Anubias? Just curious.

I feel like I've heard this was possible. In those cases, though, a little bit of the rhisome came with the leaf. Are you sure it was only stem? I feel like even the lower most parts of the stem might be "rhizome".
