I really doubt that vinegar would hurt acryllic (granted, I'm not certain).
vinegar is pretty mild stuff - it's usually sold at about ~5% concentrations, and you can drink it, after all...
As to damaging acrylic, I'd be more concerned with alcohols and other solvents, or using something that would scratch it up.
plus, using vinegar would help remove hard water deposits like deposited carbonates and such.
It might be worth spraying it out, wiping it down with a vinegar-splashed cloth, and filling it with water. a lot of small scratches can almost disappear in water.
If it is scratches, you can probably polish them out- I believe there are usually kits available for this, but I'd recommend a thorough cleaning afterwards just to ensure any of the polishing compounds/solvents/whatever are removed.
