Not all wood can be boiled to make it sink. Some woods are denser than others and therefore more suitable for use as bogwood in the aquarium. Actually, what we mostly refer to as driftwood is really bogwood because by definition it sinks. A lot of us use manzanita wood from www.manzanita.com. It's really nice stuff and not too expensive.
