I recently purchased the dual current satellite 2x96 watt lighting system for my 40g acyllic tank. ive been reading that i should change one of the bulbs because it is not enough light for a planted aquarium.
Could you please tell me which bulb(probably the actinic) to get change out and your opinion as to which bulb to purchase. Thank you Mr. Watson

APN,

I'm not Greg but I believe I can try to answer you question. 2x96watt PC is plenty of light for a 40 gallon aquarium and you will not have any issues growing any plant, at least as far as light goes. You will certainly need to use CO2 with that much light and of course, you will have to supply nutrients as well. If you light has an actinic bulb, you will want to replace that with a 96watt bulb that has a K rating of 6500-10000 The Satellite fixtures use square pin bulbs, if I remember correctly, so you will need to make sure you buy a new bulb that is square pin also. The brand does not matter but I do like the Current dual daylight and 10000k bulbs.

When I purchased my Orbit Current Satellite they were not willing to open the box, but once I received my shipment they were willing to work with me.

I returned the actinic bulb for the Dual Daylight bulb (6,700K/ 10,000K).
You may need to keep on top of them calling to make sure they get your shipment and ask when your replacement is sent to you; but they were willing to work with me.

At that time, I had no interest in an actinic light.

I probably still won't until I get some T5 bulbs for a new salt water tank at some later point.

Call them first before returning the bulb. You need to have return authorization first for the swap.
