Hi, I have been growing cabomba for several years in fairly low light tanks and bowls. It's been an easy plant for me. Sometimes part of the plant has a reddish hue to it. It's actually more of a pinkish/brown to be exact. Is this characteristic of cabomba caroliniana or do you think it might be another variety of cabomba? The pictures I just took today are not as colorful as it has been at times in the past. In the top view of my 5 gallon tank you can see it best. It's the underside that has more of the reddish color. When I purchased it the label just said cabomba. Thanks.

Yes they can have a reddish tinge to them, usually when the lights are good the top few inches will go reddish.

Did you change your light settings or relocate it to somewhere with sunlight? Also did you dose some fertilizer to it? Some plants will have a red tinge with proper sunlight and iron dose.
