I have a red rubin sword plant that puts out new leaves all the time, but they seem to grow horizontal and don't get to long. I have it planted on the backside of a community tank which does get a lot of sun during the day. The strip light is your typical one tube light with low wattage. The tank is a 40 gallon hex. I think it is getting plenty of light during the day from the sun and the strip light and I thought that if it were not it would reach for light instead of just putting out new leaves and speading out. I use plant tabs (seachem) and follow the recommended dosage. I wanted it for a background plant, but it just sits and doesn't grow vertical.
