I have been out of aquariums for the past few years while I have been moving around the west. I finally found a place I want to stay for awhile and am thinking about setting up a small rimless in the 6-8 gallon range. I am looking for a canister that will have slow flow and most importantly QUITE !
I know I could run a sponge or a hob, but the noise for both of those is a no-go for me.

Any recommendations?

Take a look at an Eheim 2211. They are work great and are really quiet. I run Eheims of various sizes on 5 of my tanks. They are super dependable. Just a bit expensive.

I bought one of these for my 20g because got tired of the AQ's being so noisy. This thing is quiet, even quieter than my Fluval 305's.
