Hi yall,

Well suddenly 3 weeks ago my cherries in my 20 gallon tank started to die and I don't know why!!! And only my cherries are being affected. I'm thinking there might be something leaking chemicals into my tank. Maybe the rocks I got from a creek or my substrate since someone on this forum has the same substrate as me and he/she showed it to be defective batch of eco-complete. But I have had the rocks for at least 4 months and the substate has been in there since the tank's creation. Or it could be something from the hygros I put in 2 months ago... Either way about 8-10 cherries are dying a day. What could be the cause?! I've been ferting the same way ever since I had the shrimps 6 months ago, so it can't be that...

HELP!

Have you changed the food you feed them lately? Does what you feed them list any type of copper in the ingredients? Copper will slowly build up in the shrimps system until it reaches a critical level that finally kills them off. Perhaps they've been slowly exposed to copper in some way and, as a whole, are reaching the limit of what they can stand.

All my water parameters are ok. I just remembered that they started to croak around the time I started feeding my fish with hikari frozen brine shrimps. Would there be anything in the food?
