Cherries to LFS for credit?

Has anyone been trading in cherry shrimp at their LFS for credit? I'm considering this now that my cherry breeding program is in full swing, however, I'm worried that they will cut me out once they get a shipment or two.

some don't like trading as they fear they'll bring in disease or other into their store.
My lfs doesn't give much in the way of credit. How are you breeding them? I would love to hear about your setup.
My LFS will give me $2/each in credit, $1.50/each in cash. They like the fact that they don't have to buy 100 at a time (as with their standard supplier).

Ever thought about putting them in the classifieds on this site? I'm sure there are some people out there who would be interested in buying them from you or even trading some decent, (hard to find at your LFS) plants for them.

They should ship pretty well as long as it isn't too cold. When/if you ship them, put in a bit of moss (java or whatever) as they like to hold on to it.
Simpte, I'm breeding them in a tank with java moss and some other stuff. Just toss shrimps in and wait, it's pretty simple.

Mat, I'm not really too excited about shipping them but if I can't find a LFS willing to barter, that will be my only recourse. I'm looking for new equipment so that is why I wanted to trade them in at the LFS.

Shipping shouldn't be too tough, they are pretty hardy!

I don't know about your LFS but my old one would only give me 1/2 of what they would sell them for...then they have the guts to charge double what the online dealers do for equipment and supplies. I would sell them and then buy my equipment/supplies online...unless it was a really good LFS :) Those a few and far between these days.

I've watched the Cherry Reds get upwards of $30 for a dozen of them on Aquabid. That would definately make it worth my effort to try and sell them.
I have one LFS that has great deals on equipment, at least compared to what I've seen elsewhere. Their plant selection is abysmal however. They have quite a large selection but it appears they are less vested in quality. I'm not sure if they will even take the shrimp. I'm going to stop in today and see what they have to say. If I can't find a local willing to give me fair credit, then I'll throw them up on Aquabid.
You're pretty lucky to have an LFS with good deals. Good luck with the shrimp.
Their tanks and stands are very fairly priced, however their plant selection is poor and the fish are always diseased in someway. Their dry goods also seem to suffer the high markup of other LFS. I'd never buy fish from them but equipment is another matter.
