Recently I sent up a planted aquarium and everything was great until I did a partial water change. The next morning the water was super cloudy and my fish were gasping at the surface. I checked the ammonia levels and they were at 2.0 ppm. Does anyone know what this is and how to cure it?

I used RO water so I don't think that is the problem.

Do you add minerals back into the RO water? The filter is running? What’s your substrate?

I use tap water but this time I used RO so I didn't bother remineralizing. My filter just stopped working. I left it in the tank but by the time I took the filter out it was cloudy. The substrate is just an inch of MGOPM covered by an inch of gravel.
