Since service agitation affects the amount of co2 that escapes, would it be benefical in a tank that has limited co2 to shut the filter off for a few hours to reduce the surface movement - Thanks for any info.
I wouldn't do it since the good bacteria in your filter can turn toxic if it's off for a couple of hours or more, then when you turn it back on it's going to dump the toxins back into your tank.
A better bet would be to keep the tank filled to the brim so the filter doesn't create much agitation.
