Reed-sedge peat from what I can find is composted reeds and grasses. You can make your own loam or buy this product.

"Reed-sedge peat" sounds like something that SHOULD NOT be harvested from a natural wetland.

Yeah, we don’t know if they’re collecting the reed sedge peat sustainably or not. Grasses die off in the winter so cutting them would benefit the next growing season. That’s a sustainable way.

Reed-sedge peat sounds like just another gimmick to attract and confuse. Stick with potting soils low in fertility designed to grow houseplants. Or use garden soils. You can dilute all these soils with sand or mineralize them beforehand to dampen down problems with excess nutrients and anaerobicity.

I'm thinking grass is less nutrient-dense than food scraps in compost. That's why cows need to eat so much of it.
