Another question for my DIY hood. Thanks so far for all your help. =)

I just gutted an old computer in thoughts of using it's cooling fan for my own hood. Does anyone have any info for a non electrician as to how to wire something like this in?

Any input is much appreciated?

Usually you connect the fan to a 12v AC/DC transformer (wall wart). Or better would be to use a universal power adapter (pick one up at Wal-Mart) which will allow you to run the fan at lower voltages to keep the noise down.

What type of connector is on the fan? A standard 4-pin molex connector?

Probably has either black & red or black & yellow wires. Black would be negative.

I like running my fans at 9v, not as loud, but still push enough air to cool enough.

The fan I got from the computer happens to have a black and red wire. I guess I answered my own question by stumbling upon this. Thanks guys.
