...verrrrrrrrry interesting!in my experience it actually needs high light. When it doesn't get it, it melts. That was the problem with using it in the foreground in the past. As the plant grew taller the lower parts got shaded and melted, and the plants would start floating.....
From what I have read in the El Natural forum people just cut the stem plants at the soil line and leave the roots. Stem plants will grow more roots again. If it's a root plant like a sword then I guess it depends on if you want to keep the plant or not.Thanks Drinda! I've been using EI dosing for a couple weeks now. Plants are growing OK. Especially my stargrass. I was trying to pull a few fast growing stems and plant's roots disturbed substrate a lot (I have a mix of a garden dirt and a clay covered with over an inch of sand). should I just cut stems right above the ground level leaving roots in the ground? how should I handle rooted plants in the future without messing the substrate?
